Data sources & methodology

Where our data comes from

Every dataset on Meridian Data is sourced from official UK public records, then cleaned, structured and validated. This page sets out each source, how often it updates, how we process it, and the licence it is used under — so you can trust and cite what you find here.

How we clean and validate

  • Deduplicate and normalise inconsistent fields (names, dates, amounts, sectors) into a consistent schema.
  • Preserve a link back to the original source record wherever one exists.
  • Run an automated validation suite on every ingestion — row counts, null rates, freshness, cross-field consistency — with alerts if a check fails.
  • Surface data through dashboards and a REST API, with CSV export.

Licensing & privacy

Government datasets are used under the Open Government Licence v3.0. FCA notice content remains © FCA — we summarise the factual outcome and link to the original. Companies House data is used under the Companies House API terms.

Public, indexable pages cover firms and organisations only — not individuals. If you believe a page should be corrected or removed, see data requests.
